Battersea players won two tournaments for strong club players this weekend.
Midhun Unnikrishnan dominated the Hampstead under-2200 slowplay with a perfect 5/5, 1.5 points ahead of his nearest rival and Bao Nghia Dong won the Brainstormchess (BSC) Open Blitz in Holland Park with 8/9.
Several other Battersea players played in the two congresses and to their credit, everyone got at least 50 per cent.
At Hampstead, Tomasso Penna got 3/5 in the Open and Gregg Hutchence, Tim Valentine and Samuel Ward-Riggs all 2.5/5 in the U-1900.
At Holland Park, Shreyas Royal was not far behind Bao in 3rd with 7/9 in the Blitz and Denis Dupuis managed 4.5/9, whilst Bao also turned in a distinguished performance in the BSC Rapid, finishing 2nd with 5.5/7.
