Welcome to Battersea Chess Club’s first Power Hour – a new initiative we’ll be holding before club nights kick-off.
Power Hours will take place when we have a volunteer willing to fill the hour between 6pm and 7pm. Everyone is welcome, whether you are a member or not, and the event will be FREE.
First up, it’s the winner of last week’s Battersea FIDE Blitz tournament, Blair Connell, who is holding an opening clinic tomorrow (October 26) at the allotted time. Here’s what it’s about:
The Fried Liver Attack!
Fun and unexpected ways to turn the tables on your opponent!
Ever felt under pressure when your opponent starts 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6 Ng5!
Looks dangerous right?
Let’s turn the tables on our opponent!
To reiterate, the class is free and open to everyone. There will be a donation jar at the end if anyone wants to contribute to Blair’s train ticket and bar bill (but that is completely optional and there’ll be no pressure!).
Hope to see you there!
