The club AGM is almost upon us and that means awards season for our members.
Who will win the big prizes? We will only be able to make a decision if you follow the instructions below.
Game of the Year
Judging this again will be Chris Beckett. Members can enter up to two games but they must have been played in league matches for Battersea or our internal tournaments. Send your entries in pgn format if possible to Chris here.
Last year the winner was Malcolm Dancy for this cracker.
Player of the Year
Our big gong is awarded on a purely statistical basis. Aldo Camilleri will be working it out, but the criteria are that all classical games from the LCL, the CLL, the SCL and the Grand Prix will count. The minimum is 10 games to be eligible to win based on performance. Last year’s winner was Ali Hill.
Captain of the Year
PLEASE VOTE HERE: This is a category based on a poll. Votes are anonymous, get your vote in by following this link. Last year, Chris Beckett won it for a fine season in the LL division 1.
Congratulations to Battersea 2 for winning promotion to LL division 2 and good luck to Battersea Minor who, already assured of second, are going for the top spot in division 6.
Remember it’s our club night tonight and there will be Grand Prix games going on. Also, on May 28 we have our Pert & Pert night which should be good. Find out more about it here.
