England junior Denis Dupuis scored a stunning draw against former world top 10 player, and the greatest female player of all time, GM Judit Polgar.
Denis could have WON with 39…Rxf2+ but missed it with 10 seconds on the clock!
Nine-year-old Denis, who joined Battersea last year, bamboozled GM Polgar with just three seconds left on his clock in the Chess Connects Us event, which was held this week as part of the Global Chess Festival.
Well done, Denis!! 🏆 @ayseartun @ecfjuniors2018 @rejeandupuis #ChessConnectsUs https://t.co/QEM3tADMkn

Denis, playing as DenisD2009, was the youngest of 20 participants chosen to take on GM Polgar in an online simul hosted by chess.com.
He started confidently playing a Queen’s Gambit Declined but began to face time pressure around move 30 when he had around two minutes left.
Denis launched his queen into the attack before eventually forcing a draw by repetition – just in time.
GM Polgar, who beat every other player in the event, was visibly shocked. Analysing afterwards, the Hungarian legend realised she missed 35. Qg5+.
Commentator Anna Rudolf was just asking whether GM Polgar would win 20 out of 20 when she clocked.
“Oh! There’s a draw!” said Anna. “Nine-year-old Denis, from England, makes a draw against JUDIT POLGAR. Congratulations Denis, well done.
