We started out with 16 pretenders to the throne, but now only eight remain.
The first round of our grueling multi-format Contest of Kings II tournament is complete as four top players were knocked out last night.
Phil Makepeace, Rhys Cumming, Mike Healey and Bao Nghia Dong triumphed in the final part of round 1 last night.
They now go forward to join David Okike, Blair Connell, Viktor Stoyanov and Adam Bukojemski in a mouth-wateringly high-powered round 2.
The losers, unfortunately, have been eliminated and will shortly be executed on charges of high treason.
A date for round 2 is yet to be decided – but stay posted.
