Speed king Adam Bukojemski blitzed the annual Blitz Tournament last night racking up a near-perfect 12.5/13 to storm into the final at the first attempt.
Adam is rated 2259 Fide for blitz and 2296 for rapid – and it showed.
He demolished the field to finish a full point-and-a-half clear of Tommaso Penna and Conor Gay in joint second, while Tony Ashby ended fourth with 10.
In a notable fifth, Denis Dupuis racked up 9.5 – a very impressive score for the youngster – while Luca Buanne also impressed with 7.5 to end sixth.
Round 2 – the second chance to enter if you haven’t already – takes place on Tuesday, August 6, before the final on August 27.
