The first two Wednesdays of London Chess League action ended with mixed fortunes for three of Battersea’s teams.

In division 3, Tim Wells‘ Battersea 2 team started their campaign last week with a 5.5-3.5 win over Metropolitan 2.

There were debut wins for Kazi Rahman and Ted Udale at the Citadines. Joe Skielnik‘s game is adjourned.

The same night saw Tim Valentine‘s Battersea MA team take a 0.5-3.5 beating at the hands of King’s Head in division 5, the u145 category.

Arnold Hunt was the only player there who left without a loss.

Last night saw Chris Rebbeck‘s MI team get off to a winning start by smashing Wanstead & Woodford 3-1 .

Chris wasn’t playing, but was present as swash-buckling Joel Morales turned up late, sat down, and won in just 9 moves.
