We’ve waited all summer, and on the last day of August they have arrived.
The 2018 London Chess League fixtures are finally out – and it turns out this year we start surprisingly late.
Battersea will kick off with a double-header on October 3 as Tim Valentine‘s Major team take on King’s Head and Tim Wells‘ Battersea 2 team in division 3 take on Metropolitan.
Chris Rebbeck‘s Minor side play their first match on October 10 and Battersea 4, captained by Arnold Hunt, have their first outing on October 30.
Midhun Unnikrishnan‘s first team, meanwhile, will have to wait until November 21 to play Mushrooms.
This contrasts with the Central London Chess League which starts surprisingly early – September 6 in fact.
Battersea’s full fixture list for both leagues has been imported into our club calendar here.
The London Chess League’s website, which has more details but is less pretty, is here.
